Online gambling refers to any kind of gambling that is conducted on the internet. This includes gambling in casinos, and sports betting. The first ever online gambling website was made available to the public in the year 1994. It offered lottery ticketing BetFury Casino online for the World Poker Tour in Play Fortuna Cassino online Las Vegas. Online gambling sites have evolved to provide a variety of gambling and gaming options.

Some of the most popular online gambling websites include: Betfair, Coral Sportsbook, William Hill, Intercasino, Unibet, Fairlay and iPoker. These businesses have made a major stride in a short time. These companies offer many types of gambling online. For instance, there’s the traditional betting where people bet on a certain bookie or online casinos. Raffles and lotteries are also available, where you can win cash or tickets to events like horse racing, music festivals and even lottery draws.

Online gambling has been a topic that has attracted the attention of many states. They fear it will be used to promote illegal activity and trafficking. Certain state governments have taken an interest in online gambling and created regulatory frameworks. In addition among them, the Department of Business and Professional Regulations and Delaware have developed licensing programs and rules and set up databases for online gambling websites. Many internet users are aware of the rules governing online gambling. Most states have provisions that allow state-regulated gaming sites to continue operating as they undergo a review.

Many countries including the United States have taken an active role in regulating online gambling. International policies and legal frameworks exist for online gambling. The US Congress, which controls interstate commerce, introduced bills to legalize online gaming and penalize those who gamble online. The European Commission and World Trade Organization are involved in the development of international guidelines for gambling online.

The issue with regulating online gambling on the federal level lies in the fact that federal authorities is unable to regulate interstate commerce. Gambling is a local enterprise right. State regulation falls under the interstate commerce power of states. Although the power is given at the state level, it is not delegated to the federal government.

A simple search on Google will reveal that the top gambling industries in the US include Las Vegas, Macao, Playtech, Commission Lodge, Bingo Palace, Coral Gables, Party Poker, Paradise Poker, Hollywood Casino and Poker Stars, Party Poker and Party Flip. Las Vegas, Macao and Playtech are the most profitable members of the industry. The five most profitable industry members from Las Vegas are also the top five gambling cities. This makes Las Vegas an attractive city for offshore gambling operators.

The US President Barak Obama has backed a bill to legalize online gambling in the Philippines during the recent Philippine elections. The reason the US President supports this initiative is the billions of dollars that the country’s local economy depends on its online gambling industry. While many politicians from the Philippines support the move however, the primary issue is the inability of national leaders to support it. The main bill proposed is the Bringing Back Gaming Control Act, which is currently under discussion in the House of Representatives. The principal purpose of the bill is to tax online gambling and create an all-national registry for every gaming website. This would require all online casinos to register with the government and require that they open accounts in the Philippines.

While the legislation to bring back gaming control could pass the House of Representatives, it is not likely to become a law. Since it could have a negative effect on the Philippine economy, the national political system hinders the legislation from being enacted in the Philippines. The previous attempts have caused major problems such as rising costs and cutting benefits for Filipinos. However the House Majority leader has promised that the measure would still be passed by congress.
